Dear American Dear Brave and Bold New Americano,
This speech is to you, If I was mailing this speech in an envelope I will mark it Urgent!
The truth is that we are declining as a nation, the country we love our United States of America is in trouble and we do not act quickly this decline will endanger our families, our income, our education ,our environment and our health.
The signs are clear to see ,but we are divided in a battle of parties ,like a game of Super Bowl we are not taking this problem as serious as it is, as some of us are in a deliberate denial unable to see because of the manipulation of the political parties.
From the time I was a young girl, America to me symbolized a shining beacon of liberty, opportunity, and the rule of law. Being raised by my father, who fought shoulder to shoulder with American soldiers on the front lines of the Cold War, taught me the importance of standing up for the values upon which our nation was built. I was blessed to become an American citizen in my youth – the most important gift I have ever received, excepting the birth of my three beloved children.
Through the love of my family and friends, through the mentorship and support of my neighbors of this great Commonwealth of Virginia, through some old fashioned hard work, and through the Grace of God, I was fortunate enough to maximize the opportunities which America offered to me as an immigrant. Whether in education, in business, or in community service, I strive – every day and in every way - to balance my own professional success with the sense of responsibility to afford those same opportunities to others in our community – especially our brothers and sisters who could most greatly benefit from such assistance.
But the opportunities that I had are not the opportunities for our children anymore , for over twenty five years now I worked with our community in the churches ,in the mosques, in the schools, with non profits, on my own.
And I had the opportunity to study and reflect on very sensitive issues like Human trafficking and Forced labor mostly with vulnerable immigrant teenagers, assisting immigrants with their complications of adjusting themselves to the American system through my real estate or my law business, being one of the prestigious Sorensen alumni of University of Virginia thought me to deal ethically fairly but also in a non partisan approach with all my colleagues, and while I had experience on pushing legislation through my Political Committees nothing made me reflect more than a dies nefastus
It was close to Christmas on December 2014 ,and I have almost lost the life of my beloved son Alexandro, my firstborn ,my rock ,I remember to see him on the floor gun pointed by an FBI off duty agent, breathing fast ,scared, closing his eyes very very shut and praying for his life in front of my own eyes and me not able to do anything, not knowing if that day was the last day that I will see the smile of my son for the last time , looking in despair only prayers could have save him of a man with a gun and a badge ,a bully , a hate criminal, made me realize and reflect on many things and that nigh I have realized what I was made of…STEEL that I am uncorrupted that I am a fighter and I was not going to give up.
If you ever get into a situation in which you have to define yourself then you will quit or you will persist, I decided to persist and I did have times that I fall and I wanted to quit ,and I did not,
on January of 2016 , the man who fainted at the court after listening the verdict was not my son but this horrendous hater ,who got sentenced by jury trial and was found guilty.
And I did it, and I did it , and not just for my son but to teach to everyone else including the law enforcement that no one is above the law and also, that no one ,and listen to me , no one should ever bully or make you feel less because of the way that you speak or the way that you look or the color of your skin or the choice of your gender.
I decided to run for the Virginia Senate because I feel so passionately about serving the amazing people of Loudon and Prince William Counties, because I am a single mother of three and we are the same, we woke up every morning and go to work , looking for a better life for our children ,looking for a dignified retirement, a healthcare system that does not fail us, and an education that does not need to be a burden in our credit report, and that is why I am here because I am like you and like you I want to change that, and we can, together we will, it’s not me but us.
It is to me an honor of being an advocate for our local concerns and have your trust, rest assure that I will be an unwavering fighter for your rights as I did for my son Alexandro.
I am running as an independent for two reasons: firstly, because I want to make certain that my candidacy and voice will be beholden to the interests of each and every one of you and not to any special interests; and secondly, because I believe that, especially in the present time, we are tired of this party fights between democrats and republicans of the establishment, we are tired of this messy situation of this division and a ruthless competition in which we are in the middle like a child who does not know where to go in a divorce case, if to mom or to dad ,and see every day fights , we are the victims from the republican and democratic parties, and we need to send the message that in Virginia we are independent and we will support an independent candidate and more will follow my lead and this will be common sense people like us who can sit an open a dialogue and find a win win situation because that is what America is made of we are natural Problem solvers we are independent thinkers we are independent voters.
I am not a politician and I will never be one of them, the cynicism surrounding this field frightens me far more than outrage world
America has always been the land where many different communities have come together in the belief that diversity enriches all of our lives – economically, culturally, educationally. Our diversity means that whenever we have been faced with a problem, we have many different viewpoints to identify solutions. Having been raised in a multi-cultural and multi-faith family, I have always been respectful of these perspectives and it has not only enabled me to empathize with individuals, but also to be uniquely suited to troubleshooting challenges. As much as I respect diversity, I passionately believe in the unity of the American nation. The challenges we face are ours – all of ours. And just as we meet these challenges together, we will also figure out ways to come out on top – together!
Some of the challenges I hope to address are:
1.Eliminating the toll road of 267 ,Greenway a private company ,we must to get rid of it.
2.Driver licenses for undocumented people it is safe and we need to know who is driving in Virginia many people is driving anyways we have 1 million 51 thousand undocumented Virginians who can pay car property taxes in Virginia, can buy cars in Virginia and buy insurance in Virginia a revenue that we desperately need in Virginia, but for four years we are trying to pass it and it gets denied by one vote.
I pledge to you if I get to the Senate that independent Senator who will vote for yes will be me.
3. and among many things that we can pass we will be working on mental health veterans children’s education and many more issues that we can solve it together as Virginians.
I pledge that I will always be available to all of you – to listen to your thoughts, to fight for your liberty, and to hold persons who hold positions of public trust accountable for their actions. I pledge to support the neighborhood heroes who protect us from harm whether on the street or in a fire, the ones who save lives every day in an ambulance or in the hospital, those who teach our children and prepare them to be great citizens, those who fix our roads and maintain our parks, those who create business and those who work tirelessly day in and day out with joy in their hearts.
I pledge to you that the doors of my senate office will be ALWAYS open to YOU.
If this speech was putting in an envelope today and mail to you , it will be marked URGENT, it is time of our political revolution, to show the rest of the states than an independent candidate can win and will win, I want to thank you today for taking accountability and understanding that , if I fail, this will be our failure and if I win this will be our winning.
Lets work and mobilize! Thank you.
